Update from me when I went to Ferguson protests tonight (August 20, 2014)
These photos are actually from the Ferguson protest in Clayton, MO (we then moved to Ferguson - more on that later).
We met in the Clayton Rec Center parking lot, then marched to the Buzz Westfall Justice Center chanting things like "What do we want? Justice! When do we want it? Now!" "Hands up don’t shoot," and "Black lives matter."
At the Justice Center, many people spoke including a woman who was shot at and had police throw tear gas at her. Clergy members gave inspirational speeches as well. We read a letter demanding the resignation of St. Louis County prosecuting attorney Robert McCulloch from the case. A policeman took it for us to deliver.
The whole thing was very peaceful.
After the letter was accepted, we moved to a church in Ferguson. Gas masks/face masks, food, and water was handed out. We held hands and reminded ourselves that we fight for love and justice.
Everyone else walked over to another spot on West Florissant Street, while my mom and I drove over there (we couldn’t stay much longer). We were stopped at the first checkpoint, but since I don’t have a physical press badge (my paper has me verbally identify myself??) they sent us to the second checkpoint. They didn’t know whether or not to let me in either, so we were sent to the third.
The police were very kind, but then my mom reminded me that we were middle-class white women. They told us bottle and bricks were being thrown and I couldn’t get any farther than that.
I would like to remind you that the PEACEFUL protestors are against violence of any kind. We don’t like that police and buildings are being attacked. We tolerate NO violence. And I apologize to the people that have been caught in the crossfire of the violent protestors.
Thank you for reading.

I wonder who is going to replace Jenna Coleman since she’s not returning to Doctor Who after this series.
A slim white female in her 20s whose casting is based mostly on how attractive Steven Moffat finds her. Next question.
